I have come across a number of people who get excited to start their blog. But their blogs seldom come live. Everybody dreams but only a few accomplish them. So first of all congratulations for your wise step to start your blog.

“Blog” is an abbreviated version of “weblog ,” which happens to be an expression employed to describe web sites that uphold a continuous journal of data . A blog features diary-type commentary and links to content on supplementary online resources , generally introduced as a bunch of entries in reverse chronological order . Blogs vary from the individual to the political , and can target one narrow subject matter or a whole range of topics . You can get more information about blogging on wikipedia. Blogging is either free of charge or reasonably priced , giving you the ability to get started right away by creating a blog on a website like Blogger or WordPress. I recommend WordPress. These following steps would help you decide on how to start your first blog:

1. WordPress or Blogger : This the first hurdle to decide on the blogging platform. WordPress or Blogger?  A lot more others are out there. But these two are the prominent players. It all depends on your taste and your acquaintance with these platforms. Check some of the blogs on both platform. This will help you to decide between WordPress or Blogger. I love WordPress. And this website is a self hosted website using WordPress.
   
2. Think some great name for your blog: This is the second hurdle you will surely come across once you decided on the platform for your blogging. You need some perfect name which is short and related to the topics you are going to keep it updated with. Here friends are great help and game too. Decide the name and sign up on your favorite blogging platform.
3. Ask yourself what you really like , care about or want to write about :  If you’re planning to come up with something consistently and continue your blog crisp with cutting edge information , then you ought to write about something which stokes your fondness or that shows your daily expertise . Try some of these suggestions to get your ingenious juices pumping : technology, politics, food, literature, business,cars, gadgets, photography etc.
4. Think how you want to help people with your write up : While you want to know your wide-ranging area , you should concentrate your blog topics more narrowly , to ensure that it has a transparent objective. You may like to teach something on which you have great hands on. You can share latest trends and news falling under the niche of your blog. Have you ever won over an obstacle? If yes then you can share your your experiences to inspire your readers.
5. Know what not to blog about : Wow your blog was going all well. But suddenly a good day you blew it off. And the worst case is you even don’t know what happened. Your friends, family, workplace and co-workers may take a dim view of anything if it wraps out some secret, shares some confidential trade secrets, make fun of your peers or causes other people trouble. So its always a good idea to know your limits. Check with your friends or co-workers if you are mentioning them in your posts. Check with your workplace what is permissible and what is not on your personal blog if it contains a mention.
   
6. Check other blogs related to your idea of blog : Do some research to find out the best blogs related to the topic of your blog. Read their blogs. Share your views in the comment section about the post. Do it on regular basis to establish a relation with other bloggers. This is very important if you want your blog to go viral. Keep checking what other bloggers are writing. What different are you doing from them. This will establish you as a famous blogger.
