Happy WorkOn weekdays I remain in momentum and I need not apply much effort to make myself running to work and then coming back and finishing off some personal business stuffs, focusing on my brand value, updating my social accounts, checking and replying mails etc. It is all together lot of work.

And I am glad that I keep abreast with my work on weekdays. Then comes lazy weekends which used to apply an irresistible frictional(laziness) force which used to hunt my running body down on bed. And it really takes a lot of mindful effort to again start running on track for the race starting from Monday. I pitied on myself for being helpless like this on weekends.

Your high school physics book can teach you a very crucial lesson which could greatly impact your personal growth. Do you remember Newton’s first law of motion( also known as Law of Inertia)? Yeah perfectly right.

“A body in rest remains in rest and a body in motion remains in motion with same speed and in same direction until an external force is applied to it”.

We mugged up the definition and passed our exams. And no wrong in that. This is how the education system has been working since its inception. Lets not get into this deeper.

I got to know the significance of this law when I implied this to my lifestyle. My office runs Monday to Friday. And on observing very keenly I concluded that my productivity on week days are much more high than on weekends. Now you would be probably thinking this guy has lost his senses; What does his working productivity has to do with the Newton’s law of Inertia. Of course it has nothing to do with it. But on closely observing you can correlate my working pattern and Newton’s law.

I fought back and found out ways to keep myself ever running for success. I have outlined a few quick tips which I follow to fight my complacency and keep my energy level ever-brimming. I hope this might help you too the way it has helped me.

Take mentorship or guidance: A mentor is a veteran who recommends a considerably less experienced colleague, friend or relative. A mentor possesses the wisdom exclusively experience can provide , whilst the novice is in the early stages of his or her line of work . As a mentee you acquire advice and valuable suggestion and invites to industry proceedings and introductions to industry giants.

How mentor helps you?

  • Help you deal with a problem at your workplace, in your family and almost all walks of life
  • Make you cautious for new opportunities.
  • Help you find out new technologies you should have hold on to excel in your career and personal life too.
  • Never let you lag behind in achieving your set goal provided you cooperate genuinely.

I was lucky enough to get Mr. Kumar as my mentor. Over the time we have established such a great relation that he treats me like his younger brother and I too treat him like my elder brother. How do you find your mentor. Remember mentors are not aliens for whom you need to invest in sophisticated spaceships and travel whole universe to find an alien mentor for you. He or she is around you every now and then and keep pumping you with positive energy. Here are few points which could help you find out the mentor who catches your vibes and you do as well:

  • Choose some one who is in same profession as you so that he understands your situation well.
  • Your mentor should be willing to invest time in the mentor-mentee relationship.
  • You need to take initiative in establishing and contacting with a potential mentor as you are the one who is going to be benefited from it the most.

Associate with people with positive attitude:

“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you can not help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.” ~ Albert Einstein

You are the product of your thoughts. And your thoughts develop alike to the persons whom you are associating with. So it makes sense making friendship with those whose presence, talks, writings make you energetic.

Read Books:

“You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”

~ Charlie ‘Tremendous’ Jones

Reading is an excellent hobby which makes you discover a new “YOU” which no one other than you can discover only on reading books. Right from toddlers to teens and teens to adults, reading has always been good and will always be. Its obvious that reading books will provide you ample amount of knowledge and out of box thinking and attitude. It makes you a positive thinker and you start learning new things everyday.

Make To-Do list for weekends compulsorily: Weekends are the reason which makes you lazy and bound to bed. Right? I have a tremendous idea to counter your “stubborn lazy YOU”. Remember, its easy to fight with something which is not within you rather than fighting with hard nosed ‘you’ within. So its going to take a little more effort than your other days.

Make a “To-Do” list compulsorily for weekends even if you are not used to it for your weekdays. Take some time on Friday nights or before leaving to home from your work to make your clear To-Do list. Mention clearly as to how you are going to achieve what you have written. Try your best and effort your best.

One of the reason people see To-Do list with a “tried-but-couldn’t” attitude is because they do not have clear vision of what and how they want to accomplish. Its still ok if you could strike off three out of six set goals from your list. Celebrate it. Don’t feel a pang of remorse for what you couldn’t. Include the unfinished task to your next list. You come out as a master once you start practising this technique.

Concluding it: Don’t let your already moving body, mind and soul stop only because of some virtual frictional force which you can overcome with a little motivation on daily basis.
